Oh, look at that!

On Monday, we went to Amarillo, so that Sager could go to the eye doctor.  Luckily his eyes are as sharp as his wit.  We were deciding where to eat and Shaw says, "Oh, would you look at that, it's a giant poodle, well we look over and there is the biggest poodle I've ever seen sitting in the passenger seat of a white cadillac, but wait there's more, the man driving was holding the poodle's bowl so he could eat, of course the boys died laughing, it was just crazy!

Sager sees Dr. Munden and when the dr. came in he was asking Sager how old he was and Dr. Munden asks Sager if he goes to Kindergarten and Sager says no, So I say would you please tell him what grade you're in, Sager says 2nd, and Dr. Munden says oh well you must be very smart and of course Sager says, that's what they all say!  Dr. Munden just cracked up.  Luckily Sager's eyes are 20/20 so he's good for another 2 years!

Whew, I'm glad that's over with!!!

Well Christmas has come and gone, thank goodness!  My house is almost back to normal!! We had a very good Christmas but I'm glad it's over with.  Now all I have to do is get all of my thank you cards out, and in fact I'm fixing to finish a few more cards that I started yesterday.  We went to Brandon's sister for Christmas Eve and had the best time.  Brandon's mom bought the boys a Wii, and you could not believe the reaction from Sager, all the boys were so excited but Sager was overwhelmed,  it totally brought tears to our eyes,  then on Christmas day we went to  my sister's house in Amarillo and had a very good time, it was so good to see her kids, Jackson and Jamison and soon to be here, Jaylee

Jamison also got a Wii for Christmas and Shawn, Brandon, Shaw, Sager and Jamison played alot of golf, I mean alot, no wonder there were hardly any Wii's anywhere.  We even took the boys Wii to Edwin and Suzanne's to play a little golf and I think Suzanne's going to have to get a Wii for her house!

Pheasants Beware!!!

This weekend I went hunting with Brandon, Edwin (Brandon's dad) and my dad and my uncle Garland (better known to the ladies as Gugan)  We hunted for pheasants near Gruver (really closer to Stinnett).  We really didn't see very many birds, although we did kill a few but we walked and walked.  As the only girl, there was no way I was going to complain about how far we'd walked but let's just say that today I can definitely tell I walked further than I had walked in a long time.

I always have such a good time when I get back to the yellow house at Hansford.  I have such wonderful memories of spending the night up there with my Granny.  I could go on and on with stories and memories but it would take too much time.  As we were driving up there, I thought about my Granny and how much I miss her and the times I spent with her as a little girl.  I still remember her address from having to write thank you letters and her telephone number and she's been dead about ten years (I can't believe it's been that long...) anyhoo! here's the pictures from the hunt, I'm going to go dry my tears!!

Teaching School is Hard Work!

Look at this poor pitiful creature!  Sager was in the worst mood on Wednesday after school.  I had to put in some grades and stuff and so Sager decided he was going to get comfortable.  Not even a minute later he was asleep!!  His medicine makes him so sleepy and especially after a busy day, he's just exhausted!

Christmas Cards

So I thought that I would be on the ball and make my Aunt Quetha some Christmas cards so that I could take them with me to her house in Amarillo.  I was so excited at how cute they were that I took them to school to show them off and then when I got ready to pack for Amarillo, I totally could not find them.  So yesterday and today, I made her some more, and a few extra .  Here are some pics!  I hope she sends them to her grandkids, she's got two boys and two girls, they are so cute!!  I hope the like them.  I loved making them.

I thankful for...

Yesterday and today we've been in Amarillo spending some time with my family.  We've had a really good time.  Yesterday my sister Sarah and my niece Jamison went with Sager and I to all the hot spots in town (ya know Kohl's, Ross Dress for Less!) we had so much fun.  While we were shopping, Scout, Jackson, my nephew,  Shaw and my Daddy all went out to go deer hunting (Go Meat!) of course ya know I was praying that nothing would be killed however when you have a 10 yr. old, 13 yr. old and an old man all hungry for blood, something's going to get killed.  So of course there was several versions of the story but in the end a small (pettite) deer got shot.  Jackson missed, Scout hit it, PawPaw said don't shoot it's too small but Scout said I didn't want to not shoot and have Jackson make fun of me so of course I had to kill it.  Jamison says that she thought you weren't supposed to kill baby deer.  Jamison I think your totally right!!! (She's sitting here as I write this, editing my work!  Hi Jamison!!! MiaMia loves you!!)

Darling Democrat

Sager just got Brandon and I to stop and watch Barack Obama on the TV.  I totally grew up going to every political function that my Dad and Step Mom could find and drag us to, NAACP, Democrat stuff, Bob Bullock stuff, I'm sad so say, I can even remember putting Mondale/Ferraro signs in people's yards!!!  I totally try to stay away from politics and the such, but the torch might have passed to Sager.  He is totally intrigue about Barack Obama.  You should have heard the wailing and gnashing of teeth when Sager found out the Shaw voted for John McCain in the mock election at the elementary school.  However, it should be noted that Sager did start crying when ever he was telling us about how so many of the kids at school didn't want to vote for John McCain because he was so old and had white hair.  He also said he's old just like PawPaw!!

Go Meat!!!

We all went camping out at Brandon's parents hunting cabin (also known as the farm) during Youth Deer Opening day.  My Dad and my nephew came up to do some killing! It was so good to see Jackson, he's getting so big, I was thinking about how he used to be so little and I'm watching him and Shaw and Sager play on a dirt hill and Jackson yells something like I'm the King of the hill so all of y'all kiss my butt!!! (He's such a sweet little lad!)
We had such a great time, roasting marshmallows, cooking steaks, and peeing outside!! and the best part of it, I didn't have to see any dead animals, I didn't have to act like I was really going to cook and eat something that the boys killed! Don't get me wrong, I had a good time, I just didn't want to have to haul a carcass home!!

The GREAT Fake Debate '08

The Junior High had the "Great Fake Debate" in honor of the upcoming election!  Of course, my child was on the Democratic side.  The kids were
absolutely hysterical.  Some of their arguments were so ridiculous you just had to laugh! One student was going to build military bases  every where! I just loved it!
Scout even worked the crowd before the debate, shaking hands and reminding all the students to vote Democratic!  It must have worked because the Democrats won!  The students in Scout's Advanced Technology class are super students! I just love watching them grow up.

So romantic!!!

Look at my beautiful roses that my super wonderful man gave me! Well, you know there has to be a story if Brandon is sending me roses (He's a little too tight with his money to spend it on roses!).  Mr. Monson, the kids piano teacher, who is a member of the local lions club, got Brandon's cell phone number from Scout and he called him up to get him to send me roses as a part of the lion's club fund raiser, Brandon tells Mr. Monson, well if I send them to Maria I have to send them to my mom and I don't want to spend that much money (I know, you're getting misty-eyed with his sweet ways) so he asked if he could half the roses and send half to me and half to his mother!  Part of me is glad that I got some roses and the other part of me is glad that Brandon wanted to send them to his mother but come on!!

There are a lot of fairies in Childress...

There are a lot of fairies in Childress, so I hear, people say they're everywhere... I think I've seen a couple but I wasn't sure it they were real fairies, so I decided to be a good neighbor and  build a fairy compound.  They will have lots of shelter under the mushrooms in case it rains because you know they hate to get their hair wet, I landscaped it of course, you know how fairies love a pretty place, with some purple mums and green foliage and so they won't get hungry, a yellow tomato! Surely the fairies will like it...

Laundry Rooms are Romantic

This morning, the sun wasn't quite out yet, and I'm changing Sager's  school shirt because of course he thinks there is something on it (OCD) and he looks so sweet and lovely, so I bend down to kiss his little cheek and he whispers to me, this Laundry room is really romantic.

What do I do, of course I say, quite being such a dork!!! and get your butt by the front door and wait on your ride! (but it really was funny!)   Because it is so lovely being his momma.

Sager and his Rainbow Socks

I actually had to wear socks the other morning so, as I was looking for some in my sock drawer and I found Sager;s beloved rainbow socks.  You can not imagine how many memories these socks brought back.  Sager wore these socks everyday ( I mean everyday, there is absolutely no exaggeration when I make that statement).  He wore these socks for nearly a year.  He had to wear these socks.  Ever fiber of his being cried out in rebellion if these socks were not on his feet.  I must say I wish I had video taped some of the melt downs that occurred as I so lovingly and sweetly tried to explain to Sager that Mommy just didn't get the laundry done like she should have, she was busy doing other things like staying up all night to make sure a small child was breathing or medicating that small small child or trying to get that same small child to ear something other than chips and pretzels and other crunchy things ( I know excuses, excuses).  I must admit sometimes they weren't clean but who are you going to defer to the gods of cleanliness or a small child who has OCD in every cell in his body (and just for the record, I always defer to the small Monk).  The day that he could no longer fit his skinny little feet into the stupid things was a sad day indeed especially since Sager's ChaCha who started the whole rainbow sock thing couldn't remember where she got them (and believe me she tried because she ordered several other "rainbow" socks  must to Sager's disappointment.  Sager has gotten better about some things but not everything.  At least now he can wear regular white socks (although they have to have certain toes, and certain tops and certain middles, not too long and not too short... do you see a pattern here?)

Stampin Up!

I went to a Stampin Up get together on Tuesday night and we all had the best time.  Everyone who went brought either a craft or a card for everyone to make.  It was a birthday themed party and Melissa V. and Stephanie H. thought of everything.  We all made the cutest things and ate cookies with frosting! Those are two of my most favorite things in all of the world!!

Well I'm off to piano and ukulele lessons and then we might just have to celebrate because today was report card day and we had a BUNCH of good grades around here! Congratulations Scout, Shaw and Sager - You guys rock!!!

I'm a total copy cat!!

I went to a blog training at the end of the summer and it never even crossed my mind that I would have a personal blog.  A lot of the teachers have them and I totally love reading them so I decided that I would do one just to show off my kids and our crazy lives.  So here is my second post and it is about the newest member of our family. Her name is Yolanda.  Isn't she the prettiest thing you've ever seen?  Shaw and I totally love her and she loves us.  Do you know how I know?  Because she runs after us and tries to bite us even when she's laying down getting her tummy rubbed.  Duh!!! I'm thinking maybe she's just not used to her surroundings yet.  But one day soon, I know she'll realize the error of her ways and she'll start being sweet.  I just know it!! Until then, I'm not judging her, I'm  just loving her.  Well I'm off to a Stampin' Up get together!! I'll have to post later about all the fun I going to have.

first post

Just wait - I've got a lot to tell!!!
